Aurora Hedgeway School provides flexible education for children and young people with communication and associated difficulties.
Following an Ofsted inspection, they were required to offer an additional space for extra-curricular activities, with a tight 7-week window to get it completed prior to Christmas 2020 so that it would be ready to use by the beginning of the January term.
Project Details
The school had an existing dilapidated outbuilding, which due to planning constraints needed to be renovated rather than the space being completely rebuilt (which would have been easier!). This required the Alabas team to remove the majority of the external walls whilst supporting the roof with deep footings, prior to the re-build of the walls.
Alabas also carried out a complete internal fit-out to ensure the space was suitable to be used by the students all in line with current building regulations.
