International House has been offering high quality English Language teaching to foreign students since 1987.
Since its launch International House has grown steadily, and in 2019 the Directors decided to add a new single-story open plan classroom extension. Following a recommendation they asked Alabas to complete these works.
The project undertaken was in two parts. Phase one included the demolition of the existing toilet block, the creation of new male and female toilets and a new canteen area. Phase two was the new classroom itself.
Project details
The extension was a timber frame building built on steel ring beam off piles with external timber cladding and a single ply membrane roof. Natural light is provided by skylights and aluminium bifold doors.
The build was completed to a high specification including all carpentry, electrics, plastering, decoration, wall and floor tiling and plumbing. Under floor heating was also installed.
The client was very happy with all works completed and have made clear that we will be at the top of the list for any future works.
